The holidays can be a very hectic time and can be stressful for many families. Sometimes it can even seem that we are in auto pilot! It is a busy time of year and everything is go go go so it is important to PREPARE YOUR HEART. These are my favorite tips for a stress free holiday season.
Prepare your heart: What I mean about this is to not forget to have a heart of gratitude and thankfulness. With how difficult and different this year has been for all of us sometimes it helps to sit and think all the good that is around you. Maybe sit down with your family and intentionally list all your blessings around you. Let God be the focus to prepare your heart.
Have a schedule: This is so important! It is so vital to schedule important things and events in this time of year so you won’t overwhelm yourself. There is so many activities going on in the holidays that sometimes it is hard to keep up with everything. There is church activities, school performances, Family gatherings and of course your every day activities. With everything going on sometimes it is so hard to keep up. So Scheduling things is so important. This will keep you organized and on schedule.
Say no when you have to: You do not have to say yes to every event. Sometimes you just want to stay home and relax and that is perfectly fine. Stay home with your family and watch a movie or take some time for yourself. It is important that you don’t drain yourself with everything occurring this time of year. The holiday are supposed to be a happy and fun time of year. The time of year to make fun memories with your family and celebrate Jesus! So if you have to say no to a Christmas event or a family gathering IT IS OK! Do not feel bad about it, put yourself and your family first. ALWAYS!
Make memories with your family: What better way to spend your holidays than by making family memories. In my opinion that is the best part about this time of year. Hope every one can use my favorite tips for a stress free holiday season in this crazy time.
